The Fridays for Future (FFF) movement calls on peoplearound the world to join the Global Climate Strikes on 20 and 27 September 2019. During this time, millions of us will walk out of our workplaces and homes to join young climate strikers on the streets and demand an end to the age of fossil fuels.
The Global 100% Renewable Energy Platform and its members and supporters are dedicated fully to this goal and many of us have been working towards it for decades. We welcome the widespread realisation of the urgency of the challenge that faces us. We will join in solidarity with the people of the world in shining a spotlight on the issue. The Fridays for Future movement, in turn, demand a 100% renewable economy, as supported by the Platform.
We encourage institutions to make it possible for their staff to, in whatever way is viable, show their support for the action.
We encourage governments, both national and local, to take heed of the wishes of the populace at large and the scientific evidence before them, and respond with speed, fortitude, and vision.
We will join with many millions in support of the action, with our organisational motto solidly at the forefront:
For Our Future: 100 % Renewable Energy!
In addition to joining the Digital #ClimateStrike, the central office of the Platform will join the Climate Break on 20 September held at 11:55 at the UN Campus in Bonn in front of the UNFCCC Secretariat, and co-organised by staff of Deutsche Welle, Engagement Global, DIE, Deutsche Post/DHL, UN and WWEA, in collaboration with FFF and Parents4Future.
